It’s that time to start thinking about your New Year’s Resolutions, and one surefire way to feel better about yourself is through giving back! As a volunteer-driven organization, the Crisis Nursery serving Wright County has tons of opportunities for individuals and groups looking to help the community.

Check out some of the ways you can get involved with the Crisis Nursery and help strengthen families in Wright County.

  • Hold a donation drive for needed items at your school, work, or church. The Crisis Nursery has a wish list for items like diapers, diaper wipes, games and toys, and new or gently used warm weather gear and pajamas for kids.
  • Volunteer at Crisis Nursery Events. Between the annual events, like our Spring Fundraiser and the Timber Dash 5k, as well as the many other events we host every year, we are always in need of volunteers to help with setup, collecting donations, handing out prizes, etc.
  • We also have opportunities for individuals who want to directly help children and families. Volunteers can do things like facilitate parent support groups and become foster home providers to care for children on a short-term basis.
  • You can make a child’s birthday extra special by purchasing items for a Birthday Bag, which include an age appropriate toy, candles, and cupcakes. Some individuals prefer to provide just the toy or to donate the roughly $20 for the Birthday Bag items.

If you’re interested in any of the above opportunities, or have an idea of your own, please call the Crisis Nursery at 763-271-1674 or email Development Coordinator Abby Dahl at
